The Originals: Joseph and Daniel talk with E! News

Trailer of season 5!

The Originals: Interview to Charles Michael Davis, Daniella Pineda and Daniel Campbell in the CW Uppfront

Julie Plec speaks about the drama of Stefan's Doppleganger, Jeremy and Damon's happiness

SPOILER ALERT

The Vampire Diaries has done it again, in the season's finale, "Graduation", we knew that there would happen two things:  the band would graduated in a poignant scene that held their history together. Elena should again make a choice between Damon and Stefan. One of the characters who had died previously would return from death. And, of course, we knew that someone would take the cure for vampirism and become human. But while we were busy wondering who would take the cure and who was going to spend the summer with Elena, we forgot one of the mysteries of the season: Why Silas did not let anyone see his true face?, the answer was one of the most amazing twists of the finale... and was only one of many. Zap2it speaks with executive producer Julie Plec about the shocking end of the season.

1. Silas has a doppleganger - and it's Stefan. Yes, Petrova women aren't the only ones who have the Doppelganger charm in her blood. All the complicated mysteries about the legend of Silas, their goals and their skills were finally understood. Thanks to a fissure in a spell, Silas came to life, revealing that the own spell of immortality also had a crack: doppelgangers. Silas and Stefan share the same face. Stefan is the doppelganger of Silas, and is now caught in a safety deposit box at the bottom of the ocean.

This is a story in which they have been working for more than a year. "Last year, when the season 3 ended, we continued with a small group of writers and we stayed for five weeks, to try to break the big features of season 4. Last year, more or less at this point, the history of the Doppelganger occurred to us" explains the executive producer Julie Plec.

There were some complications by introducing another Doppelganger character. In the season 2 and the beginning of season 3, when Nina Dobrev played both Katherine and Elena regularly ended up totally tired physically. Some of those who make the decisions behind "The Vampire Diaries" they were worried about playing two characters having similar consequences in Paul Wesley.

"We had to convince a lot of different by how it would work and what could make it work," says Julie. "So not we end up in a situation similar to that of Katherine and Elena, where Nina was exhausted to the point not to get out of bed, since it accidentally had a work excess. Creatively, everybody was very excited about the Doppelgänger Silas, was only a matter of time or which led us to consolidate it, knowing it was that basically what we were going to do".

For the moment, Paul is not worried about working too much - he is excited to face a new challenge in the series. "He is very happy," laughs Julie. "Interpreting the right hero is not always the most exciting work for an actor, and Stefan, of all our heroes, is the more correct series. We have the opportunity to deepen in its heartbreaking side at times, but for Paul, those moments are very few to be able to deepen his art, and a lot of other times thinks that simply your hair's hero is arranging. So, obviously, he is very excited about this, and has supported him all the time. He dies because Stefan is a moron, is evil, be the bad guy, to be able to stretch his muscles".

And on the 5th season, without doubt he will do it.

2. Jeremy Gilbert's resurrection - On the Vampire Diaries, the fans are used to characters who die - and, in some ocations, are seen afterwards, as a vampire or as a ghost. Even so, it has surprise us (pleasently!) about knowning that Jeremy will come from death permanently, mainly because his goodbye episode was heartbreaking. It didn't concern the writers that his resurrection would dull the impact of his beautiful and memorable farewell?

"Is something which we had talked a lot", says Julie. "Our intention, in a starting, was to say him goodbye in a permanent way. But then there were so much questions about the power of this girl by loosing her only family alive. It was very important for her travel in that moment. That big tragedy united with that is really sad and depressing".

Even if Jeremy had to die to drive to Elena in the next phase of his life as a vampire, the writers realized quickly that it would be impossible to bring it back from that point dark and desperate tragedy in his life unless they revivieran Jeremy. Without it, Elena was a long and dark tunnel towards the depression - and would only the 5th season was very lively.

"We discuss much, in sale of writers - could bring successfully turn this character without making it a crappy way?" Ultimately, I believe that the form in which it is conducted, feels like a natural end of season gift for a character who has gone through so many things ", explains.

Now Elena has a chance of a little happiness in season 5. "Have to turn Jeremy revives it, somehow, at a point where you can go on with their lives and live like the Elena we know", says Julie. It is wise, because he knows that some viewers are not satisfied with the fissure in the history that represents that Jeremy has returned to the land of the living. "Basically, you can see something and say, ' well, that's a return, it is not fair", but emotionally, I think, is a good thing. We crushed by this. As we shall see. I hope that the people are so happy to see our Elena to redirect his life, that accept it".

3 Bonnie will still participate in the stories - Jeremy did not exactly with a travel free to the land of the living. Bonnie sacrificed herself in order to bring it back to Elena, and now is trapped beyond the veil - invisible to all, with the exception of Jeremy.

It is without doubt a tragic loss, but don't worry, fans of Bonnie. Kat Graham will remain an important part of the series. "" This is what I say about Bonnie: I have not personally seen "Being Human", but I do know that they have a ghost character that works quite successfully in that series ', says Julie."This isn't the last we've seen of Bonnie. "Of course, she will be there in the middle of the story of the next season, only that with some new complications."

4 Time Delena! -Return to Jeremy his life again, Bonnie essentially also gave Elena his life.Without the bond of medium, nor their pain and their lack of humanity, Elena finally came to assess his love life without interruption - and she chose to be with Damon. "In death, you who made me feel more alive", Elena told him. Followed by a kiss! Now, with her vampire beside her boyfriend, she might be able to enjoy College.

They have been difficult for Damon years when it's her love life - but Julie tells us that now is the time that has some legitimate joy in your life. 'Yes. Of course,"she says. "We'll get to see Damon trying to be a good boyfriend, and although it will not be easy, it will do whatever it takes to make it work, and they will have a real chance of being happy."

5. And what about Katherine? -This season, we've seen a more vulnerable side of the Miss Katerina Petrova. She spent most of the year running. When she finally opened and fell in love with Elijah, he rejected it in order to have a fresh start with his family. And then, in a moment of weakness, allowed that Elena got to take advantage in a major clash in the halls of the Institute. Elena, driven by very human emotions, pushed the cure in the Katherine gorge. More Katherine fears about the mortality. Elena gave it to her.

But do not expect that Katherine again is in plan Elena now that she doesn't have to drink blood to survive. "As a human being, she is still very, very bad", jokes Julie. "In any case, she feels silly for being vulnerable at a time, and is taking this frustration of its own vulnerability in Helena. If Elena is going after her, Katherine is still ready to kick his ass."

Second Clip of "Graduation (#4.23)

The Vampire Diaries Rehash: The Walking Dead

New extended promo of "Graduation" (#4.23)

Will Klaus and Caroline finally get their moment, or is Hayley standing in the way?

SPOILER ALERT

When "The Vampire Diaries"launched its spin-off series, "The Originals," with a backdoor pilot, fans were floored to learn that the new show hinged upon Klaus's discovery that he and Hayley, his werewolf one-night-stand, were expecting a child. Though we'd previously thought vampires couldn't conceive, as the Original hybrid, Klaus is an exception to a lot of rules -- so it shouldn't surprise us that he stumbled upon "nature's loophole" when he slept with Hayley.

The reaction to the baby news was certainly mixed. The backdoor pilot fared well enough to merit a green light for the series from The CW, but many "Vampire Diaries" fans found the parenthood story troubling. In particular, fans rooting for Klaus and Caroline to get together were pretty vocal about their dissatisfaction, worried that Klaus having a child with another woman was the death knell for "Klaroline."

But in actuality, the baby isn't as relevant to the Klaus/Caroline romance as one might initially assume. In fact, the pregnancy is such a non-factor, it may not even be addressed with Caroline, as she's far more concerned with Klaus's behavior toward the people she cares about than she is with his sexual dalliances and ties to New Orleans.

Julie Plec, executive producer of both "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals," understands the concerns of the "Klaroline" fandom, but also makes the point that there's a much larger story to tell about Klaus outside of his romance.

"To be fair, there are plenty of people who hate the idea that she would ever look sideways at the guy that murdered her boyfriend's mother and sent him running from town like a chicken -- there's definitely plenty of those people rooting against that twosome," Plec tells us. "It's our second-most controversial love triangle, I suppose. But on behalf of those who love Klaus and Caroline together, they look at this pregnancy storyline and think that means 'Oh, Klaus is going to go away and be a good dad and fall for the baby-mama and forget all about Caroline.' No. Hell no."

For Klaus, the hybrid baby -- whatever sort of supernatural creature it may turn out to be -- is just a means to getting the French Quarter back under his thumb, and a means of leverage with Elijah. It's not about Hayley, for him, and there's not some grand "Klayley" endgame romance brewing in Louisiana. In fact, while Klaus and Hayley both have a degree of investment in the pregnancy, they don't particularly care about each other at all.

"The bottom line is that this baby, as we move forward in 'The Originals,' is just a power pawn for him," Plec says. "Klaus's journey will be to live up to Elijah's hope, which is that this is going to be the thing that can bring their family back together. This is absolutely not Papa Klaus nursing and changing diapers and suddenly being a good guy, nor will it ever be."

In some ways, the baby drawing Klaus to New Orleans is one step toward building him into a man who might be suitable for Caroline to legitimately consider in the future. "This is part of a big picture of taking someone who has been terribly villainous and filled with rage, and hurt as a result of being colossally disappointed by his family, repeatedly -- this is another layer onto the evolution of trying to bring him some sort of inner peace," she says.

In the meantime, look for Klaus and Caroline to share at least one significant moment in the finale, which airs this Thursday, May 16 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW. "We haven't seen the last of Klaus's affection for Caroline, and we certainly haven't seen the last of Caroline's confusion about Klaus," Plec assures us. "That'll take us past the finale and into both series, in small and subtle ways, certainly, and then possibly with crossover opportunity moving forward."

Nina Dobrev heats the beach scene!

What does a hard-working, young actress do when her television series wraps for the season? She hits the beach to let loose with her best friends! At least that’s what Nina Dobrev did after she finished filming the intense Vampire Diaries Season 4 finale titled “Graduation.”

The brunette beauty met up with her gorgeous pals, including Safe Haven star Julianne Hough and Hollywood stylist Riawna Capri, in Miami over the weekend to unwind on the beach and celebrate the start of summer in proper style: by slipping into itty bitty bikinis and showing off their toned bods! While there, Nina (dressed in a super cute Moraine Maya Bikini) and her crew were spotted sunbathing, braiding each other’s hair, applying sunscreen on each other, sipping on drinks, and cooling off in the ocean.

“10 months of shooting… Time to play! Fun in the sun with my girls @juliannehough and @RiawnaCapri  ,” Nina tweeted. Overall, they all looked like they enjoyed a much-needed and well-deserved girls weekend.
